Dr Emmanuel Cooper is a potter, writer and editor of Ceramic Review: the international magazine of ceramic art and craft, who has his own studio in central London. Recent one person exhibitions include the Fine Art Society, London, Peter Scott Gallery, Lancaster University and Beaux Art Gallery, Bath.

Forthcoming exhibition Craft Study Centre, Farnham (April 2005). Emmanuel Cooper has work in many national and international collections including the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Royal Scottish Museum, Edinburgh, Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, the Crafts Council Collection, London.

He is Visiting Professor, Ceramics and Glass, Royal College of Art and Guest Curator of Applied Art, Tate St Ives. His latest books include Bernard Leach: Life and Work (Yale University Press 2003), regarded as the definitive account of this great potter, and 10,000 Years of Pottery, published by the British Museum
Press.

He is currently working on a book on Contemporary Ceramics for Thames and Hudson and researching a biography of Lucie Rie.
